Citizen harassed on religious grounds and left without judicial protection

The citizen Reinlado Basulto Caballero and another person filed a complaint with the Provincial Ministry of Justice of Camagüey about the harassment he and his family had been subjected to on religious grounds in previous days. They were attended by the Law Specialist of the Technical Sub-Directorate, identified as Dharma; the Technical Sub-Director Belkis Rodríguez; the Zone Delegate Ángel Aguilera Zayas and the Provincial Justice Director Tomás Velázquez Torres. The state agents stated that they could not help them or follow up on an investigation, claiming that this was only authorized by the Council of State and that they would not allow Jews in Camagüey. Furthermore, they told them that they could not do anything about the attacks either because these were isolated cases and the perpetrators were people, against whom they could not ask for any protection, that this was not the function of that institution and they emphasized that, if they wanted to be left alone, they had to stop their nonsense and integrate themselves into the revolutionary process and join the Party.
