Activist detained to be prevented from attending Mass

Georvis Chivas Castillo was going to participate in activities carried out by Patriotic Union of Cuba, which were being conducted to demand the release of political prisoners, the end of repression and in order to earn respect for civil and human rights in Cuba. A las 5:40, Georvis was detained along with other activists at the checkpoint on the way to Santiago de Cuba. Without any reason or appropriate documents, he was driven to the Police Department in Caimanera, where he was threatened with imprisonment. He was released at 12 pm.
