Activist prevented from participating in an opposition group meeting

Human rights activist Nelson Acosta Ríos was prevented from participating in a meeting of the opposition group, Party for Democracy Pedro Luis Boitel Abraham, he is involved in. The group representatives in the municipality of Perico scheduled the meeting with their members for Thursday, 28 February to be held in the house of the former political prisoner Félix Navarro Rodríguez. When Acosta Río was approaching the house, approximately 50 metres from the house two political police officials known as Darío Torres and Yuniel stopped him and said: "You cannot pass".
