Activist imprisoned in Guantánamo went on hunger strike when a medical assistance was refused to him



Eider Frometa Allen is curently serving his sentence in the Guantánamo Provincial Prison. On 17 April 2020, he was moved to the punishment cell due to a hunger strike he went on that day until 26 April. He decided to begin a hunger strike when he was refused a transportation to the Provincial Hospital Agustino Neto. Eider was having problems with his eye and was asking the authorities in the prison for a medical assistance. As no attention was paid to him, Eider did not have any other mean how to raise this issue than going on hunger strike.
