Detained in the market with two pounds of beef

When Arlenis Diaz Jimenez was leaving the food market, she was stopped by a group of policemen. Lieutenant Soler told her to show him the bag she was carrying. When Arlenis asked for the reason, he grabbed her bag and found two pounds of beef. She was detained and taken to the police station in Guantanamo. In Cuba, there is an ban on killing the consuming beef, even if the person is the owner of the cow. Arlenis told the officer, that the meat was for the children who had come to the food market. The official told her that it had nothing to do with it and that was her problem. Eventually, she we released at 5 pm that same day.
