After being denied a building permit, a family was fined for settling in a prohibited location



Three years ago, the couple Emilio Tamayo and Daniela Medina, who is five months pregnant, requested a piece of land for the construction of a house, but the answer was negative. As they had no place to live, they were forced to make the decision to build a temporary home on an abandoned lot in the Flora district, in the municipality of Antilla. As a result, Felix the Director of Physical Planning fined Tamayo for $500 and $1,000 Cuban pesos (€16 and €32) in less than a week.
