Alejandro Pupo Echemendía, a 46-year-old Cuban, was arrested and charged with an alleged crime related to horse racing. Other detainees reported that he was beaten, hit with batons, thrown on the ground which caused a nervous breakdown and he convulsed. According to the widow of the deceased, the corpse was covered with bruises. She says that when the man arrived at the hospital he was already dead.
