Carlos Orlando Olivera Martínez was detained in Perico where he came to attend a meeting with the opponents of the regime on Saturday, 25 May at 9:50. When he was approximately 50 metres from the headquarters of the Democratic Party of Pedro Luis Boitel Abraham, he was stopped by secret police officer known as Darío Torres Barrios who told him he could not go on. He was driven in the patrol car no. 580 to the police station in Perico. After having been kept there for ten minutes, he was put in the same patrol car and driven to the police station in Colón. He was received by State Security official known as Alberto Surí who invited him to sit in the lobby. Then, another official known as Alejandro invited him to the second floor to the meeting room. During that time nobody issued a detention order or any official document for the detainee. Carlos Orlando Olivera Martínez was released at 11:50 am.
