Lismeyris Quintana was arrested when she was leaving her home in the municipality of Marianao by the combined forces of the Department of State Security and the National Revolutionary Police in order to prevent her from participating in an activity organized by Ladies in White. She was taken to the detention center called VIVAC where she remained for more than 24 hours. She was fined 1500 pesos.
