Inmate in distressing conditions

On the 15th October a letter was received from the political prisoner Roberto Rodríguez Acevedo, he denounces that "they are killing him". Rodríguez Acevedo received a visit at the Penitentiary of Guajamal by the Captain Misael, the Lieutenant colonel from the territorial Department of the Security of the State (DSE by its acronyms in Spanish), Pedro Pérez, and the colonel Frank Preciado, from the General Direction of Counterintelligence (DGCI by its acronyms in Spanish). According to Rodríguez Acevedo, the Colonel Preciado offered to release him from prison, in exchange to publicly deny the Cuban dissidence, the Cuban Reflection Movement (MCR by its acronym in Spanish) and Librado Linares. Rodríguez Acevedo, has not received his medication since the 14th of March, the medicine helps to avoid crisis related to his arrhythmia. Moreover, a cardiologist, gave him a high dose of Walfarina (three pills per day), which causes him nasal hemorrhage, persistent asphyxia, narrowness in the esophagus, and an increase in the volume of the glottis, which causes him difficulties to breath. Additionally, Rodríguez Acevedo shows persistent pain in his vertebral column, specifically in the cervical and lumbar regions. The polyneuropathy affects severely his legs, arm and right shoulder, as well as the joints of both knees. Furthermore, the harm on his teeth are result of malnutrition since he only drinks one glass of powder milk per day and he refuses to eat the prison food. Rodríguez Acevedo's weight is 55 pounds less than his body weight and at this moment the dose of Walfarina was reduced to two pills per day, therefore his symptoms have improved, but they have not disappeared. Finally, supposedly the telephone at the prison is out of order, which has caused that the other inmates to fight him because they think that the SE disconnected the telephone in order to avoid Rodríguez Acevedo to talk about opposition matters.
