Human rights defender summoned to the police station and threatened

On 15 August 2019, Yeider Fuentes Area was summoned to the police unit in the municipality of Caimanera. He was received by the State Security (DSE) chief in the area, known as Montalvo. This official told him that he will be imprisoned due to the photo with the Cuban flag he published and also for being in touch with other activists from the Oriental Democratic Alliance (ADO) - namely Rolando Rodríguez Lobaina y Yeris Cúrvelo Aguilera. He was kept in detention for about two hours and then released.
