Activist threatened with 25 years of prison



Henry Couto Guzman was about to take part in the Sunday Mass celebrated throughout Cuba in order to ask for the release of political prisoners as well as for the social and political changes in Cuba. At 6:50 am, Henry was arrested by Major Bryan, head of confrontation with opposition groups at Guantanamo. Henry was taken to the police unit called Operaciones where he received threats from officer Bryan and Captain Jeidis who is the head of criminal intrusion in the unit of crimes against the State Security. He was told that he was about to go to prison for more than 25 years for espionage at the service of foreign powers. Five hours later, he was released and informed that he could not leave the province that he was under the legal process of the organs of the Security.
