On June 1, Georvis Chivas Castillo and other activists went to Santiago de Cuba for a meeting on activism in Cuban civil society. At the road checkpoint, they were arrested and 1 flash memory and some work material were confiscated. On their way back, on June 2, they were arrested at 10 pm for the alleged "crime of transporting subversive material that is against the revolution", according to Captain Brayan of the State Security. They were released at 11:35 p.m. in the middle of a mountain where any kind of transportation passes by.
