Human rights activist detained in the park and threatened with imprisonment

Roberto Perdomo Fuentes, an activist from the Eastern Democratic Alliance, was detained by a State Security (DSE) official known as Abel, along with several policemen, in the park in the municipality of Mella. The DSE official then took him to the police station in the same neighborhood. When they got there, the official told him to stop meeting and influencing young people and making the videos (audiovisual reportages). He also threatened him with imprisonment for not paying fines, so far amounting more than 10.000 pesos in 6 fines. After having received these threats, he was released at about 12 pm on the same day with a new fine amouting 30 pesos for alleged disturbance of public order.
