UNPACU activist arrested, depprived from personal documents and threatened by State agents

At 6:00 am, state agents searched the home of Misael Espinosa, an activist of the Patriotic Union of Cuba (UNPACU), occupying various documents, printed and manuscripts, related to his activism. The activist was also arrested by the Provincial Unit for the Instruction of Crimes against State Security in Bayamo and subjected to a gruelling interrogation of several hours, insulting him and threatening him with revocation and imprisonment. He was not given any food or water during his lunch break that day. State agents tried to ban him from activism in the streets and prohibited him from travelling to the UNPACU headquarters, located in the neighbouring province of Santiago de Cuba. Upon his release, none of his documents were returned to him, some of which were unpublished manuscripts from a book he had written. The state agents involved in these events were DCSE criminal instructor Captain Daniel Ramírez Matamoros, the State Security Department (DSE) agents known as Leandro and Maikol, and two unidentified police officers.
