On 19 November 2019, when an imprisonment of the leader of the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), José Daniel García Ferrer, was made public, a house of Henry Couto Guzmán, an independent journalist from Guantánamo, started to be under complete surveillance. The house is now surrounded by jeeps, motorcycles, patrol cars, officials from the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), sometimes wearing civil clothes, and policemen. The intention is to prevent the activist from leaving his house and from organizing an event which would express solidarity with the imprisoned leader.
