Alexander Sánchez Villa Franca detained by the State Security



On the 27th of February in the morning, the activist and the member of Cuba Independiente y Democrática (CID), Alexander Sánchez Villa Franca, together with his young daughter, was heading for the house of Rolando Pupo Carralero, the western coordinator of Cuba, where a group of human rights activists had met together in order to pay tribute to the commander Huber Matos on the third anniversary of his demise. Suddenly, the chief of the State Security, Oreste Ayala, detained Mr. Sánchez Villa Franca explaining him that he could not meet with the activists and that the meeting was a provocation. The accident and the threats of imprisoning her father, scared a lot his young daughter Thalía Sánchez Silva who began to cry.
