On 2 December 2018, human rights defender Annia Zamora was detained when she was about to leave her home in order to attend Mass and ask for the release of political prisoners. Captain Dayron detained her and took her to the police station in the municipality of Carlos Rojas to prevent the activist from joing the Mass. Dayron kept her detained for four hours. In the meantime, he was threatening her that if she did not give up participating in similar events, she would be prosecuted.
