He was leaving the meeting that took place at the home of the UNPACU executive secretary in Santiago de Cuba when, in one of the streets of Bayamo, he was detained and taken to the PNR. The authoritiesinvented a false record, claiming he was carrying to Manzanillo enemy propaganda. They left him detained for 3 hours. He was also blackmailed and threatened in order to leave his activism within the UNPACU.
