Amaury was going to the shop to buy food around 12 pm when he saw a patrol car and several policemen on motorcycles. He continued on his way, but two police officers came toward him and then violently grabbed his arm and took him to the police car. They conducted a body search on him and they handcuffed him tightly causing an intense pain and yelling "Hey, Amaury, don't try to resist or anything. You already know where you will go.".
He was taken to the police station of Santiago de las Vegas. On the way, Amaury told them that his 6 minor children were alone in the house, and the authorities told him that Committees for the Defense of the Revolution would take care of them.
Without being registered at the police office, he was taken straight to the dungeons, arguing that he was a case of the CI (counterintelligence Office). They took his belongings without any arrest record. He was not allowed to make a phone call despite having requested it. He was released the following day at approximately 4:00 pm.
