Lázaro Yuri Valle Roca was going to participate in Todos Marchamos march in Gandhi Park. On his way there, he was kidnapped and taken to Villa Marista, State Security Headquarters. After being offended and intimidated by a high official known as Camilo, they left him 5 km far from the town of Santa Cruz del Norte, which is located 49 km from his house in Havana. There they put a pistol at the nape of his neck and simulated his murder.
