The human rights defender José Rolando Casares Soto was banned of receiving medicines brought by his wife in his visit of October 27th to the campsite, located in the 4th km of the rout to San Juan and Martinez, in Pinar del Río, where he is serving a sentence for an alleged attack to a police officer. Despite of suffering pneumonia in several occasions due to the lack of health assistance, the guard of the prison forbidden the delivery of the medicines ensuring that the defender did not need them as they were provided there. Nevertheless, the medicines do not exist in the penitentiary facility.
