UNPACU activist detained at the checkpoint in Río Frío

Yanier Jouber Cisneros was detained when he was passing through the military checkpoint in the municipality of Río Frío in the Guantánamo Province, traveling from the Santiago de Cuba Province. The policemen on duty stopped the car Yanier was traveling in, they took him out and detained him. He was then driven to the police station in La Yaya in the Niceto Pérez municipality. When they arrived, the State Security (DSE) official known as Edwin Jefferson or Kevin confiscated his mobile phone, 80 pesos in CUC, 225 pesos in CUP without providing him any evidence about the confiscation. He was released at about 5 pm on the same day without any further consequences.
