An UNPACU activist detained at Caimanera checkpoint and threatened



Franklin García Rubio, an activist from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), was on his way to the city of Guantánamo in order to try to get some food. When passing through the Caimanera checkpoint at the exit of Guantánamo municipality, he was detained. After that he was put in the patrol car no. 616 and driven to a unit called Parque 24. There he was detained for more than 2 hours. He was then received by official Lionis who threatened him that he would not be free soon. The official also told him that if he did not cooperate with them, it would complicate his life, he would loose his house and his children would be placed in a special school.
