The activist of the Patriotic Union of Cuba (UNPACU) Lariné Rodríguez Delgado was detained and threatened in the middle of the public street by Major Alfredo Oliveros of the Department of State Security (DSE) as the activist was on her way to work. The officer intercepted her a few blocks before she arrived at the school where she works. The officer told her that she was being watched, that they were not going to give her a chance to leave the municipality and that if she tried she would be arrested, that it was best for her to stay at home and at work, that she should not make up anything because she would have a very bad time. Major Oliveros also threatened the activist with jail if she was caught carrying out any other counter-revolutionary activity in the municipality. The activist defended herself from the slander and threats and asked the Major if she could continue on her way. That day, the activist and her father, Keyber Rodríguez Fernández, coordinator of the UNPACU in Baracoa, were under intense surveillance by officials of the DSE and the PNR, since it was the day that the UNPACU coordinator was being processed in Santiago de Cuba.
