State Agents Detain Members of MCR for 24 hours

On January 6th, two members of the Cuba Reflexion Movement, Omar Mauri Oliva and Adalberto Izquierdo González, were detained at about 8:30 a.m. as they left the town of Las Tosas, in the municipality of Sancti Spíritus. After being detained, they were taken to the Provincial Police Headquarters where they remained in a walled-in cell for 24 hours. Both were also taken to the state agent Aurelio Cabrera Gonzalez at 1:00 p.m. and detained in a walled-in cell at the police establishment until 9 p.m. Heading both repressive operations was a prominent Department of State Security (DSE) agent, known as Captain Tony, who threatened both Cabrera González and Carlos Alberto Gómez Vasco, who was at the scene with his youngest son.
