Alejandro Hernández Cepero was on his way back from Trinidad and Tobago where he had attended a training on social leadership and communities between 30 November and 14 December 2019. When he entered Cuba, his passport was retained until the so-called operatives, a name used to describe State Security agents, joined them, among them also one called Ernesto. After several hours of waiting for Alejandro's luggage, one of the migration officers, who was strictly following Alejandro since the very beginning, told him to give her again his passport and to follow her. Then Alejandro was taken to the customs and his personal belongings, including his luggage, were confiscated. Four hours later, he was released.
