Independent journalist prevented from participating in an event in Trinidad and Tobago

On 30 November, 2019, Osniel Carmona Breijo, an independent journalist, was supposed to travel to Trinidad and Tobago in order to participate in a training on social leadership and communities. However, his house got besieged by the State Security agents accompanied by several policemen. The intention of this intervention was to prevent Osniel from getting to the José Martí Airport and attending the event. On the top of that, Osniel was threatened with imprisonment on several occasions if he continued with his activities.
