On December 24, about 8 pm, Darlevis Matos Napoles was talking to several neighbors about the current situation in Cuba and the dejection of Cubans on Christmas. Two militant neighbors and members of the Communist Party of Cuba shouted "Worms" and verbally insulted him, to which Darlevis responded with shouts of anti-government slogans like "Down with the Castro dictatorship" or "Down with Fidel and Raúl."
About 15 minutes later, two policemen invaded Darlevis's home by force, breaking the front door and using pepper spray. Darlevis was detained and taken to the police unit called Parque 24 where he was released on the 26th at 9 am. with an act of warning which he did not sign.
