An activist Yoanny Beltrán Gamboa was going to the Santuario del Cobre in Santiago de Cuba Province to attend Mass which was being conducted to demand the end of political repression and the release of political prisoners. At 6 am, he was detained along with other activists in San Lino Street. He was driven by police and State Security officials to Yateras and at 11 pm released. During that time, he was threatened by police officers.
