Alexander Ortiz Dieguez was on his way to the province of Santiago de Cuba to visit his daughter. His car was stopped by two State Security agents, Alias de Ernesto and Livan, and police at the police checkpoint. Police demanded the IDs of the passengers and then they ordered to Alexander to leave the car. He was explaining that he was going to give his daughter dress for her graduation, but police told him he could not travel. When Alexander furiously replied that he was a free man and that he was going to continue his journey, he was automatically detained, handcuffed and taken to the police station called Operaciones being accused of an alleged contempt. He was released after 2 days on a bail of 1000 pesos.
