Diaz Santos was participating in the appeal of the trial of her family, peaceful protesters of July 11, when she was detained by State Security agents. The agents threatened her, telling her that if she continued to express herself against the government, she would be detained for disobedience and resistance and, because Diaz Santos continued to express herself, she was detained and transferred to the 24th Police Park unit. There she was given a warning letter and was released after 5 hours
