Irina Caridad León, along with several other activists, was peacefully paying tribute and celebrating in the memory of the victims from the “Remolcador 13 de Marzo” when suddenly the police and the State Security surrounded her house. Simultaneously, six other activists were arrested when they were on their way to the tribute. In the past, Irina has been threatened on several occasions for her activism.
