Kirenia Rislandia Flores García participated in the Seminar for Democracy in Cuba held in Miami and sponsored by the Legal Rescue Foundation (Fundación Rescate Jurídico), through the Institute of Cuban and Cuban-American Studies (ICCAS) with headquarters at the University of Miami. When she returned from her trip, she was informed by her place of work that she could not work there anymore due to her participation in international counterrevolutionary events that threatened the security of socialism in Cuba.
