On 20th November 20 2018, an UNPACU activist was arrested around her home by the National Revolutionary Police (PNR) officer Yordanis Guilarte Estupiñan and Alfonso Adames Matos, a first lieutenant of the Department of State Security (DSE). The reason for the arrest was the activist's protest in front of the government of the municipality of Maisí, in which she stated that the leaders were corrupt because the government was saying that the recovery phase of Hurricane Mathew was over, despite the fact that there were still hundreds of families living outdoors and without any government aid. The activist was detained until 5pm of that day, she was released after an official warning was issued for public scandal and after being threatened in many ways, including imprisonment if she continued to disrupt public order.
