Activist detained to be prevented from attending Mass

Alexander Chacón Lamoth was heading to attend Mass and a protest march carried out in Santuario del Cobre in Santiago de Cuba. These events were being conducted to demand the release of political prisoners, the end of political repression and to increase awareness of human and civil rights in Cuba. At 7:50 am, he was detained along with other activists at the checkpoint on the road to Santiago de Cuba. Police and State Security officials Kevin, Sergio and "El Chino" , who detained them, were all instructed by Major Bryan, Department Chief in Guantánamo. They pulled Alexander off the bus and sent him back to Guantánamo.
