Human rights defender prevented from travelling to Madrid

Manuel Alejandro was travelling to Madrid, taking a flight at 7 am from José Martí International Airport. After having done his check-in, he proceeded to the migration department at the airport. However, the officials working there informed him that he would not be able to travel as he was restricted from travelling this time according to the system. After that, Manuel went to the respective office in Guantánamo in order to get more information about his travel status. He was told that he was "regulated" and he is considered as "a secured person due to public interest". After that, he has not been able to undertake any other travel and the restriction remains valid.
