An independent journalist threatened at her house by State Security official

On 9 December, 2020, at 6 pm, a human rights defender and independent journalist from Pinar del Río, Irina León Valladares, was visited by a State Security official who did not identify himself. The official threatened her that if she tried to meet other people on 10 December, which is the Human Rights Day, she would be detained and would spend a night in prison. Moreover, he told her that her travel status keeps being regulated so she should not try to visit the Migration Office anymore. According to the official, they would lift the ban only after she decides to leave the country for good.
