Activist from Baracoa detained in the MININT delegation and accused of damage on the state property



An official from the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), Antonio Rodríguez, visited on the 19 February 2021 the house of an activist from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), Roberto González Pelegrin. He summoned him verbally to the central police unit in Baracoa where Roberto was about to meet with a confrontation unit official, Alfredo Olivero. When Roberto arrived to the police station, he was taken to a prison cell. Three hours later, he was taken to the MININT delegation where Alfredo Olivero fined him 200 CUP due to an attack and a damage on the state property. According to the official, he placed some posters on the road and in his place of residence. However, Roberto denies this accusation as he was not at those places when the events occurred.
