Celina was detained at the police checkpoint in the municipality of Río Frío by order of the State Security (DSE) when she was on her way to the Province of Havana. She was travelling there to visit her daughters who were spending their holiday there. When passing through the checkpoint, the police stopped the bus and Celina was detained and taken to the DSE detention center known as Operations. Once they arrived, the DSE officials known as Edwin Jefferson or Kevin and Víctor Víctor told her, that she had been advised not to leave the province and she will be put in jail this year along with other activists. She was released on the next day and fined (based on decree 8-3) 500 pesos which had to be paid within three days otherwise the case would be handled by the court.
