On August 6, the trial against the lawyer and independent journalist Roberto de Jesús Quiñones Haces was carried out in Guantánamo, in the Municipal Court room, for the crime of contempt and disobedience.
The journalist was sentenced to a year of deprivation of liberty in a labor camp called Majimiana belonging to the Bayate municipality of Guantánamo's province, which is located in a mountainous and sparsely populated area of that municipality.
