A woman from Guantánamo detained when she was heading to Mass with Ladies in White



On 29 November 2020, at 9 am, Ángela García Lamorut was about to attend Sunday Mass along with the Ladies in White in order to pray for her nephew, who was joining a rally in Havana. When she was already on her way, she was detained by a State Security official Major Víctor together with several policemen. She was searched and driven to the police station called Parque 24. There she was kept in detention for 7 hours. Before her release, she was warned to avoid any similar activity otherwise she would be prosecuted for disobedience.
