A lawyer detained for his human rights activities



At 9 am, when a lawyer Rigoberto González Vigoa left his house, he was detained by Lieutenant Colonel Beune, the State Security Chief in Pinar del Río, and Captain Juan Pérez. The officials forced him to get on the black Lada car and drove him to the police department prosecuting crimes against state security, located on San Juan Hwy. Rigoberto was warned not to continue his human rights activities - he offers legal services to citizens suffering human rights abuses committed by Province Government. He was released 2 years later.
