Activist Duniel Pérez Delgado was the victim of an arrest by Captain Neuri Durán Pajan of the Department of State Security (DSE) and National Revolutionary Police (PNR) Lieutenant Feyo Nicle Hernández. The activist was detained in the area known as two roads, about three kilometers from the headquarters of the Patriotic Union of Cuba (UNPACU), when he was on his way to the house of the coordinator of that organization in the city of Baracoa, Keyber Rodríguez. The activist was taken to the unit of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR) where he was detained for more than 24 hours until he was released, after an official warning was issued for allegedly meeting with counter-revolutionary people. After his release, the activist went to Keyber Rodriguez's home and told him the details of his detention. The activist was a victim of psychological abuse by the head of the Department of State Security in the municipality of Baracoa, Major Lesnier Leiva, and by the head of the confrontation, Alfredo Oliveros, a DSE officer in the municipality of Baracoa. On previous occasions, activist Duniel Pérez has been beaten and humiliated by both DSE and PNR officials simply because he is a human rights activist.
