"In the early morning hours of July 18, Mr. Bartolo Cantillo Romero was detained while on his way to buy bread, by police officers who were following the orders of a State Security officer.
Later, the officers took him to the police unit Parque 24, where he was threatened for 3 hours with being sent to prison; they also reminded him of the beating he received on July 11 for having gone out to demonstrate in the streets, in which they fractured 2 of his ribs (wounds from which he was still recovering)."
