On Sunday, 24 February 2019, when the human rights defender and Lady in White Annia Zamora Carmenate was leaving her house in order to participate in the Mass, she was detained by the State Security official known as Captain Dayron. Then she was taken to the police station in the municipality of Carlos Rojas. There she was kept for two hours. During that period, she was mistreated and warned that she would not be allowed to cast her ballot in the elections on the new constitutional referendum.
