Bartolo Cantillo Romero is a member of the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU) and cooperates with the Ladies in White. On 3 February, he was about to attend the Sunday Mass carried out in the Santa Catalina de Ricci Church. When he was passing through Los Maceos Street and 3 Sur, State Security (DSE) officials known as Luis Ángel or Roberto and Leoni detained him. Bartolo was then taken to the police unit in the municipality El Salvador. The officials told him that he was underestimating the DSE and he would see what could happen to him. He was released at about 8 pm on the same day without any further consequences.
