Bárbara González Zavedra mistreated and threatened for defending her rights

Bárbara González Zavedra presented problems she had with her gas cooker and asked for a subsidy to buy a new one or repair it. However, the president of municipal government answered that her claim was of little importance and that all the repair shops of the municipality were closed for not being able to comply with the planning. Therefore, she was not given any subsidy and they proposed her to pay the workers on her own. When she protested and showed her nonconformity because she was not able to pay on her own (the workers are expensive and charge in CUC), she was mistreated and assaulted. She was expelled from the compound with the threat that they would make her life more difficult than it already was.
