Mrs. Nory Salazar Suarez is a mother of two children under the age of 10, has serious problems with her housing and does not have many economic resources. On many occasions she has tried to ask for help from the government and different institutions to solve her problems. But as she was not attended and was verbally abused, she decided to build a small house where there used to be an illegal dump due to the absence of sanitation policies. On the morning of 16th September 16 two inspectors showed up at her house. They did not give their names, but said they were there by order of Henry, the head of the Municipal Popular Power, and threatened to evict her and break everything, as well send her to prison. Mrs. Salazar was fined $500 Cuban pesos (€16) to be paid in less than 72 hours and was warned that she was being prosecuted for eviction and even for taking her children and sending her to prison.
