Activist arrested along with her minor grandchildren

At 3:00 pm on 27th February, Maydolis Leyva Portelles and her grandchildren, of 12 and 13 years old, were arrested leaving the Western Union office in the city of "Los Parques" and taken in a patrol car to the 1st Unit of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR) known as El Anillo, from where they were released at 7:30 pm. They were stripped of $48 Cuban convertible pesos (€42), which they had acquired moments before, and of a mobile phone, which the next day was returned to them hacked and partially broken. They were initially charged with the crime of public disorder, but were later exonerated. In the days following the events, the political police left members of the rapid response groups in the vicinity of their home.
